First Month of Motherhood

First Month of Motherhood

WHIZ’s very own Kelly Mills is about to come back to work after having baby boy Grant Michael Mills last month.

Kelly says motherhood is extremely interesting and definitely not as bad as she expected; but then again, Kelly says she has a really good baby.  According to mom, Grant never cries and when asked what moments so far really stand out, she answered with no hesitation.

"Everytime he goes to the doctor, it doesn’t really go well. The first doctor’s visit when he was a week old, he pooped all over her table. And then the next week she had me undress him and he peed all over her table, so I don’t know if his pediatrician is a big fan of him but it entertains all of us," said Mills.

Kelly says she has encountered quite a few surprises in the past month when it comes to raising her son; one of those things being Grant’s big appetite.

"My child eats insanely. That’s the only time he ever gets upset is when he wants food. We buy the pre-made formula because it is easier and he goes through about a bottle a day," said Mills.

Grant will be one month old tomorrow, and while Kelly says she enjoys spending time at home with the new bundle of joy, she is getting excited to go back to work.

"I always thought I wanted to be a stay at home mom until I actually started doing it for the last 5 weeks and now I am ready to go back to work. I need a break. Being a stay at home mom is difficult, you are working 24 hours a day, it will be nice to go back to work and have a break from motherhood," said Mills.

Kelly returns back to WHIZ on February 7th.
