What does pottery, pie and horses have in common? At first you may not see a similarity, but for some Southeast Ohio residents today all three come together.
People lined up outside the door of Ohio Pottery Sunday morning for a fundraiser the 4H has done for the last 10 years. It was inspired by national pie day and has become an important fundraising event.
"It’s our biggest fundraiser and it helps get our immunizations for the horses and it helps pay for our club books and anything else we might need" said Rheanna Wilson, 4H member.
Within the first hour, 50 of the 72 pies had sold. By the end of the day the club hoped for a sell-out. Those who made the pies enjoyed baking and were happy to help the club.
"It was a lot of fun. I totally enjoyed it and got to try all different types of pies and had a lot of fun with it" said Tiffany Pattison, 4H adviser.
The sale will happen again next National Pie Day.
