The Animal Shelter in Muskingum County is showcasing two special animals this week.

Executive Director Larry Hostetler says it is always better to come to a shelter and adopt the animals that are in need.  Animals, like Suzie, are looking for a permanent home.

"This is Suzie. She came into the shelter a couple weeks ago; she is a 5-year-old terrier mix. Very sweet dog and she is available for adoption," said Hostetler.

And when it comes to cats, Executive Assistant John Newman says they maintain and take care of themselves; which makes adopting a cat ideal if you are the type of person who vacations a lot.

"This is Cutie. She is a domestic short hair; she is two years old and she’s been here since December. She is a very sweet cat, very playful, loving, wanting to cuddle," said Newman.

Hostetler wants to remind the public that for the next week, you can still adopt a cat for 20 dollars.
