The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and the Zanesville Police Department executed a search warrant Friday night at 114 Pierce Street.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says two suspects were taken into custody and have been charged. 31-year-old Takeija Kimbrough is facing five charges including trafficking in crack cocaine and permitting drug abuse. She is facing a total of thirty 32 years in prison. 30-year-old Charles Workman II is facing six charges including illegal manufacturing of drugs and trafficking in crack cocaine. He is facing a total of 40.5 years in prison. Sheriff Lutz says he expects charges to be filed on one more person later this week.
"The detectives there were able to recover, cocaine, crack cocaine, US currency, we recovered a firearm and ammunition and we also recovered drug paraphernalia," said Sheriff Lutz.
Lutz says the new combined drug units from the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and Zanesville Police Department are beneficial for both agencies. He says the joint effort has been long overdue and they are already pleased with the results from Friday night.
"We used Zanesville Police Department’s SWAT team, special response team, because of the possible threat of some weapons in this case, and it was a tremendous combined effort by law enforcement to get this done, and I think that’s just a sign of things to come," said Sheriff Lutz.
The investigation continues and other charges are expected.
