The Muskingum County Center for Seniors may be looking at a new home.
Executive Director Terry Dunn says they are currently looking at new construction of a senior center in Muskingum County. Although the project is at its very early stages, Dunn says they are looking at the possibility of funding and locations. And while they have one particular location in mind, Dunn would not release the exact spot just yet.
"There is one location that we are probably leaning toward. We are very excited about it. It’s a very neat piece of property and it would interface well with a lot of other agencies and facilities here in Muskingum County," said Dunn.
Dunn visited the County Commissioner’s Office earlier today to determine the difference between request for qualification and request for proposal processes. By the end of the meeting, all parties agreed to go with the request for proposal approach. Dunn says this approach will be able to give them an idea of the cost and the size of the building based on the number of activities that the center provides.
"The RFQ is a little bit more generic. Tell me about the people you have, the buildings that you have built and things like that. The RFP addresses our needs specifically," said Dunn.
Dunn says after today’s meeting, they will be working in conjuction with the commissioners to get an RFP put together and out for publication.
