A Sonora man plead not guilty to 48 sex-related charges.

40-year-old James C. Emmons, Jr. appeared before Judge Kelly Cottrill in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday for his arraignment hearing. Emmons plead not guilty to a variety of charges including gross sexual imposition, rape, attempted rape, and sexual battery.

The procecutor’s office says the incidents began in February of 2005 with a victim who was nine-years-old and continued until November of 2010.

Emmons could face up to life in prison if convicted. His bond was continued at $250,000.
