The West Muskingum Board of Education meeting was also held tonight. Superintendent Sharon Smith says that their main focus was discussing the potential levy that would be for general operating costs. She says their current revenue is not sufficient to cover expected expenditures. Smith says the levy is important to have because the state has warned school districts of future budget cuts, so this money would ensure that they have the appropriated funds needed. There is no date set for when the levy will be put on the ballot, but she says it will happen at some point this year. Future meetings will be held on the matter.
