Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says it happened Thursday around 4:30 in the afternoon on Bluff Street off Linden Avenue.

Roush says the child was walking and a man in a red pick-up truck with an extended cab got out of his vehicle and attempted to abduct her. She escaped.

The suspect is described as a older white male, around 5 feet five-inches tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a green jacket.
