The free application for federal student aid or FAFSA can be a complicated process.

Zane State and Ohio University Zanesville made it a bit easier for prospective students on Sunday by hosting College Goal Sunday. The free event helped over 100 families fill-out the application by walking them through the computer process.

"We are just here basically to help them fill it out. We do not do it for them we have 2 computer labs several computers that we have people sit in and they actually sit down and fill out their own FAFSA," said Stacy Bernard, Financial Aid Assistant Advisor.

Many are first generation college students and have never filled out the forms before, but the event did see quite a few adults in attendance.

"With the economy the way it is we have a rising number of people wanting to go back and it’s great we can be there to help them," said Bernard.

This is the 6th year for the event and it will be hosted around the same time again next year.
