A Zanesville man facing multiple charges including the attempted murder of a local bartender will soon be going to trial. Wednesday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court 29-year-old Cody Fisher was found to have been sane at the time of the offenses and is further competent to stand trial. Fisher has plead not guilty to six charges including attempted murder, attempted aggravated arson, kidnapping and aggravated robbery. Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says in the early morning hours of September 2nd of last year, Fisher entered the Lighthouse Inn on Old River Road and assaulted the bartender while robbing the establishment. Lutz says Fisher then put the woman in a cooler and attempted to set the Lighthouse Inn on fire with her inside. The woman suffered injuries and had to be treated at a Columbus Hospital. Fisher trial date will be scheduled in the near future.
