Six year old Jason was diagnosed with cancer when he was five. As a way to ease the pain of this life threatening disease the organization Special Spaces decided to remake his room into a dragon inspired dream space. To do it they needed help and Eastmoor Academy, a public high school in Columbus, answered the call.

"It is a lifetime experience. You learn a lot from it. It is really emotional because you get to help somebody I feel like crying. I get emotional and it just makes you feel grateful for life and just thankful that you are living, you’re healthy," said Eastmoor Volunteers from Columbus.

This is the sixth room volunteer Faith Glazer has remodeled. For her, getting involved with the organization was a chance to give back.

"In the summer of 2006 we lived in Knoxville, TN and special spaces actually came and re-did my daughter’s bedroom. She is nine well, she will be nine next month and is almost a 5 year cancer survivor," said Glazer.

Jason is also a survivor and though WHIZ was not able to be there when he came home Faith and the volunteers were able to share in the special moment.

"It is priceless. There is no words.. goose bumps… goose bumps there is just no words. Sometimes mom is crying and the kid is bouncing off the walls. It is awesome," she said.
