The Cambridge Police Department is now investigating a shooting death. It happened Tuesday after an altercation on North 9th street around 4:00 pm. Guernsey County Coroner Dr. Janet Brockwell says 21-year-old Kyle Carter died after being shot once in the chest. Brockwell says the victim was rushed to Southeastern Med and underwent emergency surgery but died. Carter Baldwin and Terry Holdren witnessed the shooting and told Whiz News that the victim ran across the road holding his stomach with blood coming out of his mouth. Cambridge Police say a suspect is in custody in the Guernsey County Jail. His name has not been released. The coroner says an autopsy is being performed on Carter and more details are expected to be released later today.
