Considering County Home Options

by George Hiotis on March 10, 2011

Muskingum County Commissioners are considering their next step since their latest certification effort for the County Home has been rejected. The county is trying to get 72 beds Medicare/Medicaid certified by the State of Ohio. But this past week the Ohio Department of Health denied the county’s Certificate of Need application for the County Home…a second defeat in a row. Commissioner Brian Hill says his office has 30 days to decide if they want to appeal the decision. Hill says he plans to meet again with Commissioners Jerry Lavy and Jim Porter and their attorney to consider their options. Hill says the other two commissioner are leaning toward dropping the effort and it’s possible they may be done with the effort to certify, but he says they will still evaluate their options.
