D-IV District Final @ Meadowbrook H.S.

After opening up a 4-2 advantage on Hiland, Rosecrans never led again. The Bishops were down 31-25 at the half after a big three from Hiland’s Jason Miller at the second quarter buzzer. Rosecrans then used a 5-0 late third quarter run to pull within one heading to the fourth. Down 42-41, the Bishops had their chances to take the lead but were unable to get over the hump. Making matters worse, Jake Phillis, who had a game-high 18 points, fouled out of the contest with two minutes to play. Still, down by six with under a minute in regulation, Zak Kirkbride dropped three of his game-high 18 points to cut the deficit in half. But it wasn’t enough for the Bishops (23-1) who had their first taste of defeat this season losing 66-57.
