A new art exhibit hits the John McIntire Library.

Artists in the Southeastern Ohio Water Media Society displayed their newest pieces. In the past, the shows theme was a color but, this year they wanted a chance to dig deeper with something more outside the box and less mainstream.

"It could be illustrating a poem, it could be illustrating a song, of course they pick what they want to illustrate, they name it and they make the piece around that so it is quite a variety," said President Martha Davis Rice.

Rice also created a piece for the show. She was inspired by a John Denver song and the titles of her piece is "Country Road".

"It is a simplistic piece and they will kind of look at it and they’ll see the road and around the corner they know they are going home," said Rice.

Other songs used include I Only Have Eyes for You  and The Itsy Bitsy Spider. The show is open to the public and located on the upper level of the library.
