Welcome Home Parade

A soldier from our area is returning home from combat and the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your support.

A welcome home parade will be held on Friday for Sergeant Gary Hargraves. He is a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserves and has been in Afghanistan since last April. Sheriff Matt Lutz said the event was put together by his deputies and detectives.

"We’d like to ask for anybody and everybody that would take 10, 15, 20 minutes to just stand out there and wave some flags and show him how much he is appreciated," said Sheriff Lutz.

Hargraves has been a deputy for more than ten years and will return back to work once his tour is completed. Sheriff Lutz encourages the public to support one of their own.

"Anytime I think that you can thank somebody for the job they when they’re going out and protecting the freedoms of our citizens is beneficial to our people and to them," he said.

Any emergency personnel from Muskingum County interested in being in the parade can meet at the Duncan Falls football field at 4:30 p.m. It will begin at 5:00 p.m. and go down Main Street ending at the stop light at Millers Lane.
