Some locals are learning about the history of agriculture.
The Old Steam and Gas Club is showcasing more than 60 antique tractors at the Colony Square Mall in Zanesville. President Jan Schneider said it’s important to preserve history.
"If we don’t take these tractors and restore them and show them, they’ll end up in a junkyard some place and nobody will know what our fathers and grandfathers used to raise food for our nation," he said.
The club also restores farm machinery, tools, automobiles, and construction equipment. Schneider said they enjoy sharing their work with the public.
"You’d be surprised the older people that come through and look at our displays and in our room here we have a lot antique tools and a lot of people will say I remember those from when I was a boy so it’s very rewarding to be able to show these things to the population."
The tractors will be on display until Saturday. The mall is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
