The 25th Carr Center Cake Auction is over and the numbers are in.

This year’s two day total comes in at 131,210 dollars. WHIZ’s cake sold for 3,000 dollars three times during the last ten minutes of bidding.

"We went from about 115,000 to 130,000 in a heartbeat," said John Hajjar, Executive Director, Carr Center.

Hajjar says even though this year’s total is lower than last year’s 138,500 dollars raised, it still provides around a quarter of the Carr Center’s budget.

"If we did anything over 120, it would be a phenomenal year because you look at what’s there and you never set a goal because we never want to be a failure, it will never be a failure no matter how much we raise," said Ron Bucci.

The Der Ver Ber store also contributed 1,000 dollars toward the end of bidding which helped push this year’s total over the 130,000 mark.
