The Council of Community Resources held its annual Community Resource Day Thursday afternoon, at the Zanesville Muskingum County Welcome Center. It was an opportunity for social service agencies in Muskingum county to network with other companies in the area. Vice Chair of the Council, Patrick Donavan says this type of event is especially important during these rough economic times.
"Given the state of the economy, and the state is really cutting a lot of funds in a lot of areas, it allows professionals in Muskingum County to come and see what is still available" he said "That way they’re actually able to utilize some of the resources that are out there."
President of the Council, Michele Shirer, travels the state and says we’re lucky to have such a prevalent networking community.
"Here in Muskingum County we’re very fortunate to have such a wonderful collaboration of agencies that try to work with each other and see how we can assist each other." she said
The event was free and open to the public. It offered information from 36 different agencies about the services they provide in our area. Both Shirer and Donavan hope that those who attended the event walked away with helpful resources and information.
