Gunshot Fired In Domestic Dispute

by George Hiotis on April 26, 2011

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says his special response team was called to deal with a domestic dispute that involved a gun shot. Lutz says it started around 12:30 Monday morning at 1530 Richvale Road when deputies tried to serve a male with a misdemeanor warrant. When officers arrived they found a female locked outside the home. The Sheriff says when she tried to break a window and re-enter the home deputies heard what they thought was a gunshot. After around two hours of negotiating the man, who’s name was not released, was talked out of the home without incident. Lutz says he was taken to the hospital for mental and physical evaluation. The case will be presented to the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges.
