Tired of paying for music online? Or paying for music in general? Well how about getting your favorite tunes for free? Legally.

That’s what the Muskingum County Library System is doing. The library unveiled a program called "Freegal" Friday which is the Sony music catalog. John Mcintire Library’s Blair Tom says those who are library members and have a valid library card can download up to three songs per week free of charge from the virtual library.

"You can download it to an mp3, your Ipod, your phone and the great thing about this is our downloadable books encrypt after two weeks, when you download the music, you’ll have it forever," said Tom.

Tom feels this is a great way to serve the needs of many in the southeast Ohio community with all sorts of music available in the online catalog.

"The sony catalog is the largest music catalog in the world and it includes labels such as Columbia and RCA," said Tom.
