An organization that raises money for Zanesville Football is celebrating.
The Zanesville High School Quarterback Club is celebrating 40 years in a big way. The organization will hold a luncheon at North Terrace Church of Christ on Monday May 9th with guest speaker Zanesville native and head football coach of Michigan State, Mark Dantonio.
"I just think that having him comeback and speak to the community is just awesome," said Mike Alfman of Honey Baked Ham. "I’m really looking forward to it."
Over the last 40 years the organization has helped raise $1.8 million in funds for equipment that the school district can’t afford. The Forever Dads program is helping to sponsor the event. One organizer said being in the Quarterback Club and involved in football is a family affair.
"A lot of the past presidents of the Quarterback Club are fathers and those that aren’t fathers of former players are still involved like any good fathers would be with the football program and with kids," Co-chair Brian Kaufman.
The event on May 9th takes place 12p.m. All tickets much be bought in advance and can be purchased at the Winerak or Honey Baked Ham. Individual tickets are $20.00 and corporate tables $250.00. Due to extensive NCAA regulations you must be 18 or older to attend.
