The deadline for filing your taxes with the IRS is Monday at midnight.
The last collection for mail in Zanesville was at 6 p.m. Postmaster Steve Williams said they stopped extending their hours on Tax Day several years ago.
"Now 72% of all Americans are doing their taxes online, it’s really a non-event for us the windows not as heavy and the letter mail quite frankly is not as much as use to be," he said.
While it’s too late to mail out your taxes here in town, you can still go to one of three locations in Columbus. You can also file for an extension, but must still pay your estimated taxes due.
"I think everybody that is getting money files early and they do that online and people tend to procrastinate when you’re paying the money out obviously," said Williams.
