The Muskingum County Sheriff’s office makes a major drug bust in Zanesville Wednesday morning.

Sheriff Matt Lutz along with his special response team and the Zanesville Police Department conducted a search warrant at 343 Linn Street, just off Linden Avenue, around 11 a-m. Sheriff Lutz says three females and two males were taken into custody. Two children were also home at the time authorities made the arrests.

"Nobody was hurt which is always a good thing. Obviously there was no resistance. We had one guy that attempted to come out the front door when our guys went in the back but K9 Dalko was barking pretty bad at him and I think that changed his mind," said Lutz.

Lutz says meth labs are extremely dangerous and can combust and cause an explosion at any time.

"If you’re at a house or your walking by a house or you can smell like an ether smell or a lighter fluid smell, those things are going to be tips to you that there could be something going on," said Lutz.

The names of the suspects have not yet been released all 5 are being questioned. Investigators will confer with prosecutor Mike Haddox on possible charges.
