Charges have been filed against a McConnelsville man suspected in the armed robbery of the Citizen’s National Bank in Duncan Falls.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says 36 year-old, Robert L. Hill is facing charges of robbery, theft of between $5,000 and $100,00 and possession of criminal tools. Lutz said, deputies were able to recover Hills get-away vehicle on Monday afternoon, shortly after the robbery. In it deputies found two guns and the hat the suspect was wearing at the time of the crime. Lutz says a B-B gun was used in Monday’s incident and that detectives will continue to follow leads and the case is still in the early stages.
"Obviously, with these cases they are never cut and dry. You get into them and you find another lead and then you have to do another search warrant, " said Lutz, "You might develop three more leads out of that interview, so they are running down all these things and are working very hard on it. "
Sheriff Lutz said, Hill’s Case will go before a Muskingum County Grand Jury next week.
"We got a real good case, a real good case, you know as investigators you want to take the best case possible to Mr. Haddox and obviously, Mr. Haddox wants the best case possible to go into court," said Lutz.
Hills, who is also wanted for a bank robbery in Cambridge is October of 2010, is currently being held in the Muskingum County Jail.
