The Muskingum County Commissioners received an update on the status of the 2011 Community Development Block Grant Thursday.
The grant, given at the state level allows townships and villages to apply for funding for small projects like road resurfacing, landscaping, and building renovations. Eleven communities applied for funds this year, but it’s still unknown exactly how much the county will be able to dole out.
"We’re anticipating 150 to 200,000 dollars and the commissioners are looking to prioritize that list," said Sheila Samson, Community Development Director.
Last year, the county received 236,000 dollars for the grant.
