Some changes are coming to Maple Avenue.
Monday at Zanesville City Council a resolution was passed allowing the city to enter into a contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation to repave portions of Maple Avenue this summer.
"The paving is so bad on Maple that they wanted to hold off until next year to do it but we decided that we needed to do it this year," said Councilman Jeff Tilton.
However, council has some concerns about what the re-paving means for the city’s water line infrastructure.
"It’s a fact of life. With the aging water system that we have, there will be breaks and their will need to be repairs," said Tilton.
In other council news Friday, an additional resolution was passed allowing the city to enter into a contract with ODOT to begin repaving portions of Wayne Avenue. The project is expected to start within the coming weeks.
