Learning about Agriculture

Some Noble County families spent their Sunday learning about agriculture.

The public was welcomed to tour the Eastern Agriculture Research Station in Caldwell. Farm Manager Wayne Shriver said it’s important for people to understand agriculture and how it benefits them.

"These kids in school these days have to meet so many state standards and with this function they meet a lot of standards just in one day so it gives them an opportunity to see how it applies to the real life," said Shriver.

Different stations were set up including the importance of electrical safety and how sheep production works.

"One of the fun stations that the kids really enjoy is nutrition and animal by products, there’s lots of things in our every day life that derive from animals that you’re not aware of, so there’s more than just milk and cheese," he said.

Our very own Wesley Sass was also in attendance teaching kids about weather.

The farm is property of the Ohio State University Extension program.
