OVI Checkpoint Planned

The Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol said the patrol has announced troopers will be on the lookout for impaired drivers this week.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced an OVI checkpoint to deter and intercept impaired drivers. The county where the checkpoint will take place will be announced the day before and the location of the checkpoint will be announced the morning of.

Cambridge’s Patrol Commander Lt. Nakia Hendrix said troopers made over 26,000 OVI arrests last year and this checkpoint is designed to not only deter impaired drivers but also remove them from the roadways.
