Searching For Employment

Community members had an opportunity to network with potential future employers Thursday afternoon.

The 28th annual Zane State job fair was held at the Zanesville Campus Center. The fair was open to students, graduates, and community members. Employers from all over Ohio were there to show community members what they have to offer.

"You always hear about Ohio’s "Brain Drain", so I think that Zane State College provides the education, and again the employment opportunities so that we can ensure that our community members stay right here in Muskingum County " said Director of Career and Employment Services, Jamie Clark.

Despite high gas prices, and what is still considered to be a struggling economy, Clark says there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

"Employers are hiring, we are seeing the economy pick up, so it’s good news for our soon to be graduates. Again it’s an opportunity for community members, our graduates, and our students to connect with employers to ensure that they do have those lead opportunities " she said.

Three hundred to four hundred people were expected to attend the event. Clark hopes those who were in attendance walked away with ideas for internships and employment.
