Storms are Streak of Bad Luck

Storms tore through the area Monday night leaving the sixty-seven hundred block of Oldtown Road in East Fultonham looking like a streak of bad luck.

Months ago an accidental fire left one house in ruins, then Monday evening high winds and rain around nine o’clock brought two trees down on the homes next door.

"Yeah, well, the rain started hitting the window and then the wind just ripped through here," said Jennifer Wentland a East Fultonham Resident , "And about that time the tree went down when the wind came through. "

Both trees are on the property of a vacant home. One landed on the roof of the home, the other blocking Jennifer Wentland’s drive-way. Wentland said, it’s not her responsibility to pay for it.

"We’re not sure when it will be cleared out because the fire department said it would be the home owners responsibility," said Wentland, "Well the house is empty, so we don’t know who is going to because I don’t want to have to pay for a tree that’s not mine. "

Wentland believes a bank owns the property and she will be contacting them. She is just thankful no one was injured. Wentland said, had it not been for the oak tree in her own yard holding up the fallen tree the damage could have been much worse."
