The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of a body at Salt Fork State Park.
Authorities say 52-year-old John Gholl of Cambridge was found shot to death near the edge of the water by a boater around 8:15 p.m. Monday.
Gholl’s money and his personal ID were found beside him.
The Sheriff’s Office crime scene team and B.C.I. are investigating.
The Noble County Sheriff’s Office dive team was called in to help search for the weapon but it has not been located yet.
Gholl’s body was taken to the Licking County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
Authorities say the victim’s vehicle was found parked in a parking area on Park Road 14 with the keys in the ignition.
There were also other vehicles in the same area and the Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have seen anything to contact detectives at (740)439-4455.
