It took him a few weeks, but finally Cabott Harmon got back to the form that he was use to when he threw the discus. The senior who had a rough couple of weeks leading up to the State Track Meet was able to find the strength to make his best throw in the last meet of his high school career. Harmon was able to qualify for the championship heat, and in his first throw fired a disc 169 feet and 6 inches which was good enough for first place for a short time. Wauson’s Todd Christy though was able to edge Harmon with a throw of 172 feet and 5 inches. Harmon did finish as the State Runner Up in Division II and was just two feet off his personal record, which he set at the MVL meet late last month. Sheridan’s Dalton McGlaughlin was able to finsh sixth and earn All-State Honors.
Also earning All-State today was Sheridan Thrower Marybeth Boyden who finished fifth in the shot put. Heath’s Liz Clippinger was also able to get on to the podium as an All-State perfomer. Meadowbrook Pole Vaulter Kelly Delancy cleared a height of 11 feet to place in the fourth the state and she too earned All-State Honors.
