If you’re a car show enthusiast and looking for something to do this weekend, look no further than the Washington Township Fire Department.

The department will hold their 5th annual car show Saturday. The day will include a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and food. All items are donated, and proceeds will go towards equipment and training. Chief, Gene Hanning said, it’s a great event for a good cause, but attendance has been low.

"Last couple years has been down because you got the economy and the price of fuel," said Hanning. "But we hope we have a good turn out this year, and the weather stays with us and we have several show up."

The first 100 vehicles will receive a dash plaque, more than 30 trophies will be awarded and Hanning said, Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement vehicles are welcome. The car voted ‘best-overall’ will go home with a one of a kind trophy.

"I guess I like to see the guy that wins the 6ft trophy and the smile on his face," said Hanning. "It’s a good day for him to be able to participate, and be here, and walk away with a 6ft trophy."

The show will be held rain or shine. Registration begins at 10 AM and the show will begin at 11 AM.
