A reverend in Zanesville has a reason to be celebrating…

Just last week Father Luke Turon of St. Thomas Church turned 90 years-old. On Sunday, a surprise celebration, months in the making, was held in his honor…And with out a doubt, it was a surprise.

"I can’t understand how they kept this hidden all the time, the whole parish," said Father Turon. "I’m going to report them to the Bishops, they’re all conspirators in this perish."

The birthday cake served was a miniature replica of Father Luke. Father Jordan Turano said, it was very fitting.

"And people just love him and say, "Oh he’s so cute," that’s what you hear all the time from little old ladies," said Turano. "But he is like a grandfather to everybody, he’s a very good man spiritually, as well as, he’s a very good example as to what it means to be a Christian, and a Priest, and a Catholic."

Father Luke has been serving the Zanesville Community for almost 10 years. Turano said, his age hasn’t slowed him in the least. He still holds Mass each day, hears confessions, and visits the local hospitals. Happy birthday Father Luke.
