The seventh state title will have to wait. For the third straight year, Newark Catholic comes up empty handed at the State Tournament, losing to Minster 6-5. Everything started out very well for the Green Wave, scoring four of the first five runs of the ballgame. Pitcher Jimmy Lough was rolling, but the wheels came off in the fifth inning with two outs. With nobody on and only one out to play with, Minster scored five runs to take a six to four lead, thanks to five Newark Catholic errors.
