The Highway Patrol is investigating a two car and tractor crash in Dresden Thursday afternoon that shut down State Route 666 for several hours. Click the video link on the left to watch Mark Bullion’s full story.

It’s a scene of devastation. One that is a sobering reminder of the power you have behind the wheel, but this is not your ordinary car crash.  The Highway Patrol says a silver Buick driving north on State Route 666 slams into a tractor sending the car airborn overturning and landing directly on top of a black Nissan driving south.

"I thought oh my goodness, i’m going to be next, it was a very scary situation. It just happened so fast, it was like something you’d see in the movies," said Gloria Stradley.

Gloria Stradley was behind the black Nissan and literally watched the horrifying scene unfold right before her eyes.

"It looked like they were coming around here fairly fast and I knew that they probably weren’t going to get stopped," said Stradley.

Kelsey Dodson was on her way to pick up a friend in Dresden and was behind the Buick. She says it happened so fast, she thought her brakes were going to give out.

"Then when i did get stopped, the guy in the tractor got out, and I got out, and the only thing I could think of was that I didn’t think anybody was going to still be okay.

"The woman in the gray car, she was trapped and Dresden Fire Department freed her, and the woman that was driving the black car, she got out of the car on her own but they both required medical treatment," said Trooper Mike Forshey.

Troopers say the driver of the Buick, 88-year-old Leah Kelly of Dresden was taken by Med-Flight to a hospital in Columbus and is in stable condition. The driver of the Nissan, 39-year-old Amy Cummings of Dresden was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
