A local Zanesville college has received national recognition.
Zane State has been selected as a "2011 Great College To Work For." The recognition was announced by The Chronicle this week. The ranking is based on anonymous responses from nearly 44,000 employees at more than 300 two and four-year colleges. Vice President of Business Services at the college Albert Brown said the award only confirms what they believed all along.
"We didn’t enter this survey with the idea of proving anything," said Brown. "We did it to get feedback to see if there are areas we could improve. We’re always looking to improve."
Of the 1,200 two-year colleges in the country, only 26 receive this honor. Brown explains the success is in part due to the college’s core value to provide a personal touch to both faculty and students.
"It’s quite an honor for the college," said Brown. "We appreciate that our employees do feel valued and we will continue to do what we can to value them and the students we serve."
"Great Colleges To Work For" is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country.
