District 11 Legion Baseball Tournament:

Beverly-Lowell: 10 Dresden: 5

(BEVERLY) — In a game that started so close for Dresden Post 399, it turned ugly in a hurry. After taking a 2-1 lead in the fourth, an error with the bases loaded allowed Beverly-Lowell to regain the lead. Then a Tyler Procter three-run home run put the game out of reach for good.

With the win Beverly-Lowell moves into the championship game against Cambridge starting at noon tomorrow.  It’s a rematch of last year’s District title game, where Beverly-Lowell beat Post 84 twice to win.  Post 750/389 will need to do it again to claim its third straight spot in the State Tournament.

Dresden’s season comes to an end.

District 10 Legion Baseball Tournament at Steubenville/Toronto:

Coshocton: 6 Richmond: 2

(TORONTO) — A big fourth inning proved fatal for Richmond as Coshocton Post 65 scored all their runs in the top half en route to a 6-2 win in the District 10 American Legion Baseball tournament.

Two runs already across the plate, Coshocton loaded the bases against the tournament’s top seed before Doug Dorsey blasted one past the fence at the Knight Baseball Complex, ultimately leading to the Post 65 win.

The Cherokees, Winners Bracket champs, await the winner of Richmond and Tuscarawas County at 5 pm tomorrow, one win away from State.  It would be the first District title for Post 65 since 1976.
