If you happened to be up early Saturday morning by the North Terrace Church of Christ in Zanesville, you might have thought it was Black Friday.

It was the 12th Annual Community Free Stuff Give-Away put on each year by the Church. Lead Minister Bill Meaige encourages church members to give up doing the typical summer garage sales and instead donate the items to the church and those less fortunate.

"They gain the benefit of realizing what Jesus said a long time ago," explained Meaige. "It truly is better to give than to receive."

Mid-East incoming Senior Danielle Norris waited in line since 5 a.m. hoping to get new school clothes. She said she wasn’t the first to arrive for the give-away, and some came as early as 3 a.m to take advantage of the offer.

"It’s really a good opportunity for the community," said Norris. "Especially the less fortunate who can’t afford to spend for a bunch of school clothes."

The Free Stuff Give-Away ran from 9 to Noon and was open to the public.
