The Fair Housing Services are looking to make sure everyone in Muskingum County is able to live equally.

With the program for fiscal year 2010 coming to an end, Director of Fair Housing Services Cheryl Staron brought the Muskingum County Commissioner up to speed with everything that has happened over the past twelve months.

"The communities and entities that have received community development funds from Muskingum county have received a brief fair housing training as per the commissioners agreement in the grant." said Staron.

Also discussed was the Analysis of Impediments, which was last completed in 2009. It is scheduled to be updated by August of this year.

"An analysis of impediments is like a family snapshot." Staron explained. "It’s going to be a picture of the community at a certain point in time. it’s going to look at housing issues, transportation, employment issues, zoning, land use planning,"

Staron says the analysis of impediments cover a broad range in order to determine that everyone in the community is able to live how they want to live, and that everyone has an even playing field.
