The United Way of Muskingum Perry and Morgan counties needs your help.

The organization has received dozens of calls this week through their 211 Call Center for those in need of fans and air conditioners

"We’ve heard from a lot of elderly and people who have health conditions, maybe children with asthma or older people who have heart conditions that really just cannot stand this heat," said 211 Call Center’s Audrey Foster.

Foster says they have teamed up with the Salvation Army and Red Cross with hopes of helping those who need to cool off the most. They are looking for residents or organizations across the area to drop off fans at either organizations.

"We’re getting near the weekend and people may not be able to connect to resources and they might be just really stuck without being able to cool off as they would need to," said Foster.

The Salvation Army has also been designated as a cooling station for those needing to take a break from the heat. They will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. all this weekend.
