A two vehicle accident on the Interstate sends one to the hospital, after the car skidded over the median, barely missing oncoming traffic.
It happened about a half-mile from the New Concord exit on I-70 around 1:45 p.m.
Zanesville State Highway Patrol Trooper, Trenas Weaver, says a black Mustang, with Michigan license plates, and a Columbia Gas pickup truck were both headed eastbound when they collided. He says after the collision, the Mustang lost control, went over the eastbound embankment, and finally came to a stop in the westbound median, barely missing westbound traffic.
The female driver of the Mustang was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, her injuries are unknown at this time. Westbound traffic was reduced to one lane, while New Concord Fire and EMS crews worked to rescue the female driver. The driver of the Columbia Gas truck was not transported.
Trooper Weaver says names are not being released at this time, and citations are possible, pending further investigation.
