Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox says a Special Prosecutor has been appointed to investigate the death of 14-year-old Grant Hickman. Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleegle made the appointment. Haddox says Mark Collins is a former Assistant Prosecutor from Franklin County who is now in private practice. Haddox says Collins was in Zanesville Thursday and met with Zanesville Police Detectives to review files in the investigation. Haddox pulled himself from the case due to a conflict of interest. He would not elaborate. Last Saturday Hickman was found dead in a home at 364 Taylor Street. The Licking County Coroner’s office has done an autopsy but has not released the result. Zanesville School officials said alcohol played a role in the death of the teenager.
