The next time you buy a lawn mower you may be visiting a new store location.

Locally Owned and Operated, American Pride Power Equipment broke ground and will begin construction of their new store location. President Ryan Dodson said the project has been about 2 years in the working- stemming back to a debate on whether the companies new location would remain residential or be better-suited for business.

"Ah, that’s history. We’re beyond that now and the very small group of opposition I don’t think they’ll have anything to complain about once they see what’s going there," said Dodson.

The business will move just about a mile down the road from their 1006 Maple Avenue address to Mcintire Avenue- just off Interstate 70. The new location will have less traffic and be easier access for customers to enter. Dodsen said the business began as a small lawn service in early 1990 and has grown to fill a number of different locations.

"We’re a community minded business, so our success down the street will only mean good things for Zanesville going forward allowing us to give back in bigger and better ways," said Dodson.

The total cost of the project is estimated at $1.7 Million and should be complete by the first of February.
