The ring is on the finger, and the date is set. All that’s left is planning the big day.

Hundreds of Brides-To-Be gathered at the Zanesville Muskingum County Welcome Center for the annual Fashion, Beauty and Wedding Expo. "It’s a Bling Thing" featured bridal, homecoming and back-to school fashions – with more than 40 vendors showcasing photography, cakes, health and beauty. Muskingum County Convention Facilities Executive Director Vicki Maple describes it as a celebration for everything women.

"We call it their one-stop-shopping opportunity," said Maple. "The largest majority of vendors that are here are actually from South Eastern Ohio, mainly from Zanesville Muskingum County so it gives brides and homecoming students, prom students, just any one who is planning a special event an opportunity to find one place to do all their shopping under one roof."

Planning a wedding is definitely a stressful time, ask any new bride…Kelly Addis was proposed to while fly-fishing at Yellowstone National Park. She has since been planning her sisters wedding, amongst her own, and knows first hand the stress of it all.

"I’m just hoping to kind of pin down what I want for my own gown and just ideas of photographers," said Addis. ‘What we would like to bring to ours to make it a little special."

The Zanesville Muskingum Welcome Center hosts about 200 events a year. The Wedding Expo has been a growing success.
