Cats and kittens at the animal shelter in Muskingum County still need your help.
The shelter held a free cat adoption day on July 23rd, and Executive Director Larry Hostetler said the event was very successful.
"We adopted out 149 cats in one day, so that helped us tremendously," said Hostetler. "We were able to start taking cats again."
Hostetler said the shelter is filling up again, but euthanization is the last resort.
"We were able to avoid euthanizing anything that was friendly and healthy by holding the free cat adoption day, but being realistic, that’s not something that we can afford to do all the time," said Hostetler.
The shelter is sponsoring a benefit auction on August 13th at Zane State. Tickets can be purchased for $30 and proceeds support the shelter.
