Zanesville celebrated 30 years of promoting physical activity Saturday morning.
A Family Fitness Walk marked the 30th Anniversary of the Gorsuch Fitness Trail which is behind Genesis-Bethesda on Maple Avenue. All proceeds raised will go towards the future growth and maintenance of the trail which has seen a lot of change in the past 30 years.
"A lot goes into it you know," said Co-Chair Meghan Longsinger. "Everybody out here doing the landscaping of it, always resurfacing the track as well as making it available to everybody."
The original trail was financed through donations to the Bethesda Hospital Foundation. Co-Chair Brooke Smith said the trail encourages healthy activity throughout the community and is open to anyone from dawn to dusk.
"It’s really pretty and you see the deer out here throughout the year and the little babies are out now," explained Smith.
The Family Fitness Walk included a scavenger hunt, cornhole, water balloon toss and Zumba.
