A benefit golf outing will be held for a local man who has undergone three separate brain surgeries since Memorial Day.
The outing will be held at Vista Golf Course in Zanesville this coming Friday for 33-year-old Ryan Omen, who had to have a non-cancerous mass removed from his brain after complaining of a simple headache over the memorial day weekend.
"We’re going to try and help him out with some medical expenses. He’s got a long road ahead of him to recover. His family and friends are very hopeful that he will be able to transfer out of Ohio State, that’s where he’s been all this time with the brain surgeries and get him transferred here to where he’s around family and friends where he will do much better," said Ryan Schmidt with Vista Golf Course.
Schmidt says Vista hosts a number of outings to benefit many people across the area which are always a major success.
"We tend to get behind these things and run with them and the people in and around the community that support these things, they are the ones that really make it happen," said Schmidt.
Schmidt says he hopes to raise between 2 and 3,000 dollars for Omen who is expected to make a slow but sure recovery. For more information or how to sign a team up, you can call 740-453-4758.
