Two non-profit organizations are teeing off together to raise money.
The annual Chamber-Jaycees Golf Outing was held at the Jaycees Golf Club on Friday. President of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Tom Poorman said the tournament helps cover operating expenses for community and business development projects.
"We just try to raise whatever we can," said Poorman. "It has always been a couple thousand dollars for each organization, which helps a lot."
Poorman said that 27 teams competed in this year’s contest. He said the golfers are able to network on the green.
"We have a lot of business and community leaders, so it’s an opportunity for those who are in business to interact with community leaders," said Poorman. "It’s also a chance for them to interact with each other, since they’re often so busy running their own businesses that they don’t have a chance to see each other."
Poorman said the golfers also enjoyed a buffet dinner, and winning teams received special prizes.
